11 www.coastingtoday.com.au Q: Favourite three movies of all time? A: (1) The Departed. Brilliant all round -- direction, casting, acting, and the fantastic killer twist in the script that I just didn't see coming. (2) Casino Royale -- the Daniel Craig version. Just a completely different feel for James Bond. Raw, gritty, determined, but still classy. (3) Donnie Brasco. Johnny Depp was so convincing. You could just feel him getting in deeper and deeper and wondered how he could ever return to a normal life. Q: What movie have you chosen to watch most often at Hoyts Erina? A: I've never watched a movie more than once at the same cinema. Q: What movie could you not bring yourself to watch again? A: George of the Jungle. I don't know how or why I ended up in a cinema watching it, but it's the only film I've ever fallen asleep while watching in a cinema. Q: If you were to be stranded on a remote desert island (with a perfectly functioning cinema, of course) and you could choose to have one comedy to watch for eternity, what would it be, and why? A: Ground Hog Day would be fitting, wouldn't it? I also love W Crashers. I don't know why, it jus laugh. But I can't watc in anything else. I just character, and how much I dislike him, out of my mind! Q: What actor would you choose to play you in the movie of your life story? A: Tobey Maguire. He's just really nerdy like me. Q: Hostile space aliens have their ray guns aimed at Australia, and are preparing to wipe us out. What Australian film would you screen for the aliens to convince them that Australia was worth saving? A: Babe. Who doesn't find a talking pig adorable? Or how about Mad Max? Hey, Aliens, don't worry about destroying Australia, we're going to do it ourselves! Q: Speaking of aliens, what is your favourite space movie? A: Can't go past Star Wars. I grew up with all three original films, that's why I'm the nerd. I sat and watched Star Wars over and over and over. Q: What has been the biggest night you've had at Hoyts? A: It would have to be Titanic. The film was a phenomenon and to this day remains the biggest film I've experienced while working in the industry. I can recall working an entire day and night where every available ticket was sold by midday that day. Even the recent success of Avatar didn't come close. Q: What has been the most remarkable that you've seen a moviegoer ? A: The Sixth Sense. The moviegoers were just in awe of the ending of the film. We learnt quickly that we had to try and keep customers quiet on their way out of the film. After one of the first viewings of the film, a whole group of customers left the cinema and inadvertently spoiled the entire film for the next 300 customers lined up waiting to go in for the next session. Q: Favourite line of dialogue from a movie? A: Not necessarily my favourite, but memorable was Samuel L Jackson as Jules, in Pulp Fiction, quoting Ezekiel 25:17. Q: Finally, what upcoming movies are you most looking forward to seeing this year? A: There are some great films towards the end of the year. The fans will be out for Harry Potter in 3D. There's also Megamind, the next instalment of The Chronicles of Narnia. Yogi Bear and the Fockers are back with Little Focker, in time for Christmas. 1. SPACE AGE: Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie NNY: Owen Wilson (John Beckwith) and Vince Vaughn (Jeremy Grey) in a scene from W UP: More than one viewing of Inception (2010) -- starring Leonardo DiCaprio -- is needed to fully appreciate th d by Warners Bros. 4. SELL-OUT: Tickets for all sessions of Titanic (1997) were gone by midday at Hoyts Erina. Picture by A to/Merie Wallace. 5. STIRRED: Daniel Craig as James Bond in Casino Royale (2006).
