23 www.coastingtoday.com.au COASTING MUSIC c8775148-5Aug SETTING: Memorial Park, right on the water at The Entrance, again proved the perfect spot for a family music festival. BLAST: Jiri's Harlem Swing Band performed some nostalgic swing music from the 1920s and 30s. PUNTERS: Vickie Johnson and Rob Green were among an appreciative crowd at Memorial Park. Among the popular acts was rock and blues veteran Kevin Borich, jazz men Galapagos Duck, Summerland Kings, Strictly Dixie, John Mackie Jazz Band, Jenny Marie Lang and Muma Jane's Blues Band. The festival officially kicked off on the Friday night at local venues which reported that they were close to full, she said. The focus shifted to The Entrance waterfront on the Saturday and Sunday, with a string of performers entertaining punters at The Sails Stage, in local restaurants and pubs, and in Memorial Park. A fireworks display on the Saturday night was a nice treat for families, while two smokin' hot performances from Kevin Borich on the Memorial Park stage on Sunday were among many highlights of the weekend.
