Coasting : Issue 13 July 2010
27 www.coastingtoday.com.au IF THERE'S ONE thing better than a big buffet breakfast on the morning after the night before, then it's a big buffet breakfast overlooking the water at Terrigal. From July, under the guidance of head chef Mark Frankin, Breezes Restaurant inside Country Comfort will shift its focus to breakfasts and functions. General manager Chris Hooper said the Breeze's Restaurant buffet breakfast was second to none. For $25, adults can feast on a tempting range of hot and cold breakfast favourites. "The selection of hot and cold foods is great, and it's all regularly replenished," Chris said. Among the hot food offerings are bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, baked beans and a variety of toasts and fresh pastries including danishes and assorted muffins, as well as fresh bean espresso- style coffee. "There's also a range of cereals as well as a selection of the freshest fruits including sliced apricots, peaches and pears," he said. Children aren't forgotten at the restaurant. "We've set out to create a breakfast environment for the entire family," Chris said. There's a selection of child-friendly cereals, including Coco-Pops, and the Pop Cake pancake-making machine is a real favourite with children. "Our Pop Cake machine is an impressive Australian invention. You simply push the button and within a minute you have two freshly cooked pancakes to enjoy with maple syrup or any of our many condiments." Children can enjoy the buffet breakfast for just $12.50. There's also an a la carte breakfast menu. Options include classic eggs Benedict ($16), cinnamon French toast ($8.50), the light country breakfast comprising bacon, tomato and a choice of either scrambled, fried or poached eggs ($12) and a pancake stack ($14). "And if you simply feel like just tea and toast, that's not a problem," Chris said. Country Comfort Terrigal Hotel has long been a hub for functions -- and with good reason. The location overlooking the water in the heart of Terrigal is superb, and on-site parking is never a problem. The hotel has two meeting rooms, as well as the restaurant, which offer a range of dining and seating configurations to suit any sized celebration or get-together. And guests who stay overnight at the hotel are welcome to make full use of the on-site facilities including the swimming pool, tennis court and children's play equipment long after their 10am check-out, Chris said.
