Feel a special connection with the land and ocean, our Aboriginal heritage, and the ethnic communities of the Central Coast by taking part in the annual Five Lands Walk on Saturday, July 3. The walk is not a race, but instead takes participants on a cruisy journey of natural and cultural discovery through the beachside communities of MacMasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca Beach, North Avoca and Terrigal. The key elements of the Five Lands Walk program are the walking route (which follows nine kilometres of spectacular coastline through the Five Lands), cultural and fun stuff near each of the surf clubs, and various Aboriginal activities. To check out the entire Five Lands Walk program and running sheet, visit www.5landswalk.com.au or phone 4343 4444. You can pre-register for the walk online, to save time on the day. The program kicks off with a free barbecue breakfast and welcoming ceremony at MacMasters Beach from 7am. Then it's onto a feast of art, music, dance, food and culture -- and be sure to keep an eye out for humpback whales as they head north on their annual migration.
