Quattro (Café, Restaurant, Bar and Catering), Platinum Building, 4 Ilya Avenue, Erina. Modern café/ restaurant/bar and function centre serving contemporary Australian fare with European and Asian influences. Open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch, then Friday nights for dinner, and weekends for functions. Phone 4367 8000. The modern dining room makes an immediate impression with its couches, curves and chandeliers. Quattro Café, Restaurant, Bar and Catering is owned and operated by the team from the former Café La Soul. It is a busy Monday- to-Friday breakfast and lunch café that is popular with nine-to-fivers as well as mothers' groups, retirees, business lunchers and even local polititicians. "It's pretty simple. We're a five-star catering team that has set a standard of not cutting corners, attention to detail and using quality produce whether it's for a takeaway toastie or an autumn wedding in May," Wayne said. Quattro is loved by discerning diners who appreciate creative, passionate cooking. "I love the classics," said chef and owner Chris Daly. "And I love using modern techniques, like sous vide, to freshen up old favourites and give them a twist. Sourcing things like organic sourdoughs, exotic herbs, and chardonnay- soaked wood chips gives me plenty of scope when designing flavourful, healthy, seasonally changing menus." On Friday nights, Quattro is transformed. The lighting dims, a stage appears, a tapas menu accompanies a clever wine list (which is extremely good value during happy hour from 5pm to 7pm) and live music adds a flavour of sophistication. "Everyone is excited about tapas," Wayne said. "Tapas is defined as the tradition of enjoying small portions with lots of flavour. More importantly, it's about bringing people together and encouraging conversation." And at weekends, Quattro becomes the function centre of choice. Whether it's a wedding, birthday, business function or presentation, Quattro has the catering expertise, facilities and menu flexibility to make any event a success. From an intimate get together for a small group, to a function for up to 170 guests, Quattro offers indoor and outdoor seating to suit. "It's a beautiful room here, and the conference facilities and utilities are all first class," Wayne said. "We really have the full package here."
