Pictures by Aaron Brown. Off with the AFORMER model and TV personality has launched ballet classes for tiny tots. Fairies and Pixies Ballet is the brainchild of local Donna Gubbay, who appeared on television programs including E! News, Sale of the Century, and Good Morning Australia. "Our Fairies and Pixies classes, for children aged two to five, are filled with magical delights all set to the beautiful sounds of music such as Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite," Donna said. "We have tea parties, flower picking and teddy bear lullabies, all the while learning the basics for ballet class for when they reach the age of five or six." Classes are hosted by Obelia Park, a ballet teacher with more than 25 years' experience. "I have a two-year-old daughter myself and I wanted her to do something creative," Donna said. "And what little girl doesn't like dressing up as a fairy?" The Fairies and Pixies classes are part of a not-for-profit workshop for children called Kids Inc which also offers art classes for children aged two to five, and classes in Royal Academy Ballet, contemporary dance and tap for children aged five and older. "All classes cost between $8 and $10 and are lots of fun," Donna said. The Fairies and Pixies classes are held at The Entrance Community Centre at 10am on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and at 4pm on Tuesdays. Phone 0418 865 466 for more information.
