(Morisset Mega Market is a proud sponsor of many local community events) c8688662-4Feb Taking it to the streets ISRAEL Cannan was born with an actor's face, but a musician's soul. It is proving to be somewhat of a problem for his bank balance. The 24-year-old indie-folk artist has made some decent money starring in movies such as the hit Aussie film Newcastle, and making guest appearances on Home and Away. "Acting is cool. "Unfortunately I'm more interested in music, and that industry can be a little more fickle in some ways, I guess. But you have to be where your heart is." There was never really any question that Cannan's passion would be music. He comes from a long line of musicians including his mother who is a guitar teacher at the Central Coast Conservatorium. "I started playing drums when I was 10. It was Mum who encouraged me. I think she had this whole Brady Bunch family idea of us having a band and she needed a drummer.
