Picture by Aaron Brown. • Craig Morrison Little Cowboys. was no holiday Touring Europe in a Volvo station wagon and playing your music to appreciative crowds sounds, on the face of it, like a dream gig. And for the most part it was. But Central Coast indie folk duo Nick and Liesl's recent tour of the continent was not without incident. Our cover story examines how the duo crammed 31 shows into 45 hectic days over six countries, all the while sticking to a pressure-packed travelling and performing schedule and driving on roads they did not know. (Any couples reading this who have spent just 30 minutes together driving in a car with a street directory open but with no idea of where to make the next turn will realise what a test of endurance the tour must have been!) A musical journey of a different type is the theme of our article on Craig Morrison. A former actor and pop-rock star, Morrison has returned to his country roots in forming the band Craig Morrison Little Cowboys. And the Central Coast was where it all started. If you've ever thought about having a major makeover of your yard, but have concluded that it would all be just too hard, don't miss our spread on page 16 where you'll see that even impossible slopes can be transformed. We have the usual treats for your tastebuds as well as plenty of fun with our articles on word play in the office, and clairvoyant Flavia's psychic snapshot of the Central Coast for 2010. To top off the edition Sydney's Sheraton on the Park has come on board with a terrific offer for Coasting readers. One lucky local will even win a luxurious accommodation package.
