The number, variety and quality of courses have made the Central Coast a genuine golfing holiday destination. But what about the non-golfers in the family? Well, the good news for golfers is that convincing your non-golfing partner to join you on, say, a weekend (golfing) getaway to the Central Coast is no hard sell. Particularly when you consider the day spas here. Just imagine, while the golfer in the family is treating themselves to a par putt on a pristine green, their non-golfing partner can be treating themselves to some pampering at a day spa. What could be fairer than that? Mantra Kooindah Wa ters Residential Golf and Spa Resort (phone 4355 5777) Golfand day spas at Wyong, offers a Stay, Play or Spa package for two people. Guests enjoy accommodation in a deluxe studio room with a fruit platter and sparkling wine on arrival. They then have the choice of either 18 holes of golf with a motorised cart on the Ross Wa tson-designed layout, or a visit to the on-site Endota Spa where they will receive a facial or massage. The cost is $300 per couple per night. Quay We st Resort Magenta Shores (4352 8100) at Magenta (just north of The Entrance) is a five-star luxury beachfront resort with villa accommodation, private 18-hole golf course and Mii Spa. The resort offers a lunch and pampering package for $265 per person (and you don’t have to be staying at the resort to take advantage of this offer). Start with two hours in the Mii Spa enjoying a ‘Magenta Magic’ treatment including an aromatic body scrub, relaxation massage and skin care facial. And when you’re done, enjoy a two-course lunch in Barrett’s Restaurant. Note that in order to play the course, you must stay at the resort, or be a member, or be the guest of a member. The links-style course was designed by Ross Wa tson and was ranked No 1 Resort Golf Course in NSW by Golf Australia Magazine in 2007. TRUE TEST: Kooindah Wa ters golf course at Wyong.
