We've independently recorded our first EP and played some fun shows here on the Coast. We try and make music that doesn't take itself too seriously but still has something worthwhile to say. What's doing: We love playing live and are looking forward to recording again. Our new songs have been getting great audience reactions (people can check a live video at myspace). Check us out: www.myspace.com/jhattb . You'll never see us... performing in the nude -- we're not that rock 'n' roll! You'll always see us... at the beach surfing -- except Bill, he'll be behind a book. Favourite all-time lyric: That's too hard. But it would probably be written by either Bob Dylan, Paul Kelly, Ron Sexsmith or Gillian Welch. Name: Chris Higgins Genre: Jazz and blues/contemporary The story so far: For eight years I've been playing saxophone and studying under David Dallinger at the Central Coast Conservatorium. I play a range of saxophones and also the clarinet, and perform in a range of groups. I'm also a keen soloist. For the past three years I've performed at the Central Coast Jazz League, Youth in Performing Arts, Live and Local evenings at Lizotte's and other venues from Sydney to Newcastle. Last year I travelled around Europe with the Hunter Central Coast Regional Wind Ensemble and also travelled to China as part of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Orchestra. What's doing: A lot, as always. I'm currently preparing for various gigs and fundraising to cover costs for a tour of Japan next year. I'm also working towards my dream of studying at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Check me out: Playing in the pit for the Gosford Musical Society production of Cats at Laycock Street Theatre. The Frigis Ventulus Sax Quartet concert on November 22 at the Central Coast Conservatorium. And also at Lizotte's at Kincumber and Newcastle in December. You'll never see me... not giving a 110 per cent. You'll always see me... Tapping my foot along with the music. Favourite all-time lyric: I can't choose one particular line, but Imagine by John Lennon has fantastic lyrics which give a view of the ideal world. Name: Tim Orgias Genre: Spiritual indie/acoustic The story so far: I set up a company called InRhythm which provides community building, team building and a space for self expression through African drumming. After seven years the business started running itself which allowed me to go on an InRhythm Australian tour with my young family. The travel provided me with the space and freedom through which my debut album Big Dream kind of wrote itself. What's doing: Getting ready to head to Byron for six months as part of the InRhythm OzTour then on to Darwin for winter 2010. Check me out: All over Australia, go to www.myspace.com/timorgias or www.inrhythm.com.au for info on shows and dates. You'll never see me... doubting that anything is possible. You'll always see me... reaching for the next big dream. Favourite all-time lyric: "The greatest thing you're ever going to learn is just to love and be loved in return," from the song Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. COASTING MUSIC
