EVENTS CENTRE c8595246-1Oct The story so far: The band formed late in 2006 with Chris De La Motte, Jesse O'Niell-Hutchin, Josh Favaloro, Dean Caletti and Daniel Sullivan practicing at break times and playing at Kincumber High School assemblies. The band has played at places such as Brackets and Jam, Laycock Street Theatre, and other venues across the Central Coast. Since then, Micah Dick has replaced both Josh Favaloro and Chris De La Motte as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, and Mitch Gilbert has replaced Dean Caletti on bass. What's doing: At the moment we are focusing on touching up some of our original stuff as well as writing some more for our upcoming gig at Lizotte's restaurant at Kincumber. Check us out: Either on myspace at www.myspace.com/randomryde or playing gigs around the Coast. You'll never see us... dressing like civilised people. You'll always see us... out and about having a good time. Favourite all time lyric: Every line in Hotel California, by The Eagles. Simply because it tells such a great story. Name: Random Ryde. Genre: Country / blues / rock. Name: Andrew McCall Genre: Minimalism piano / soundtrack / film music The story so far: I started playing the piano when I was nine years old. I did all the lessons but went surfing instead of practising. It wasn't until I discovered Yann Tiersen, a French film composer, that I really focused on the piano. His style led me to a love of the genre of minimalism and also to pursue my goal to compose music for films. Earlier this year I started playing piano accordion. Recently I've started composing and recording my own works on both instruments. What's doing: During this year I've performed my compositions at Lizotte's restaurant on their Live and Local evenings. I was chosen to perform at the 2009 Youth In Performing Arts concert at Laycock Street Theatre, and I also busk at a local restaurant at weekends. I hope to study composition at uni. Check me out: On Live and Local evenings at Lizotte's restaurant, at Kincumber, or on myspace at www.myspace.com/andrewmccallmusic You'll never see me... winning a surfing competition. You'll always see me... performing with passion. Favourite all-time lyric: "From little things big things grow," from the song of the same name performed by Paul Kelly and Kev Carmody.
