SOUNDS different Name: Gilbert Whyte Genre: Contemporary folk The story so far: I've been playing music for about 10 years and performing for the last five. I sing and play guitar, banjo and harmonica. Most of my influences come from old time folk soloists such as Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and John Townes Van Zandt. But I also love many other contemporary musicians such as Bright Eyes, Fionn Regan and of course The Tallest Man on Earth. What I like about writing and playing music is that it allows me to express something which can bypass the brain and go straight to the heart. This is also how I feel when I play. What's doing: I travel around lots playing mostly in bars, cafes and the occasional music clubs. I sell my CDs and talk to the people I meet. Check me out: Anywhere between Sydney and Newcastle. Check www.myspace.com/gilbertwhyte for venues and dates. You'll never see me... without my raggedy beard. You'll always see me... smile when I forget the words. Favourite all-time lyric: "Dawn breaks like a bull through the hall," from New Slang by The Shins. 40 Oceanview Drive, Wamberal www.vivebodyandhair.com.au email@example.com 4385 5021 Our services include: Styling Colouring Facial Treatments Waxing IPL Hair Removal Fractional Laser Present this ad to receive $20 off any in-store service.
