Fine dining in relaxed surrounds Mains start at $29 for the root vegetable and lentil pie with sour cream pastry, a capsicum and tomato relish and green salad. Other tempting mains include the red braised duck leg with shitake and duck gow gee, wilted bok choy and masterstock reduction at $34, and the succulent cumin dusted 'Q' lamb loin on a braised lamb neck brik with spicy carrot puree and pomegranate molasses jus for $36 And a word of advice: when dining at Pearls on the Beach you simply must leave room for dessert. Each of Scott's sweet treats is an artistic sight to behold, but your taste buds will appreciate them even more. Desserts (all at $14) include bitter sweet dark chocolate, pistachio and fig torte with pistachio gelato, a wonderfully tangy flourless blood orange and almond cake with Belgian milk chocolate mousse and a modern take on the Greek classic Galaktaboureko, served with a spiced honey syrup. Pearls on the Beach has a proud history of awards and favourable reviews from critics and customers alike. "We believe that the customer must always come first," Melissa said. "We want people to continue coming here, to be happy and to enjoy themselves." Pearls on the Beach is fully licensed (with BYO wine only) and boasts a comprehensive wine list, featuring sparkling, white, red and dessert wines. The restaurant is also a popular wedding venue. The elegant, white dining room enjoys a panorama of trees and Pearl Beach surf which creates a wonderfully happy and casual atmosphere with none of the stuffiness that you might sometimes associate with such a classy venue. It's a combination that regularly fills the 70-seat restaurant with diners who are quick to plan return visits. Owner and head chef Scott Fox and his wife Melissa regularly update the menu to include the season's freshest produce. Currently, entrees start at $19 for the 63°C poached hens egg on a nest of steamed green asparagus, sourdough crisps, wild rocket and Grana pedano dressed with white truffle oil and verjuice. But could any seafood lover go past the seared wild harvest sea scallops dusted in shiso fumi furikake served on fresh sea vegetable salad and ponzu jelly for $23, or the rice wine poached South Australian king prawns on a salad of shoots, sprouts and seasonal baby herbs with palm sugar chilli caramel dressing for $22?
