CHOP chop Get power on your side It's an old adage, but true: cricket is a side-on game. So it makes sense to build strength where it counts. 2 STEP 3 STEP 1 STEP EXERCISE physiologist Matt Hardy of Oxigenhealth at Erina describes this exercise as a beauty for "developing core stability and strength in the transverse plane". The translation? It will improve the power you can generate from a side- on approach. And it is this side-on approach that is so important in cricket -- for both bowlers and batsmen. Core stability is fast becoming the buzz word for bowlers, in particular. Physiologists have learned that bowlers can prevent injuries and extend their endurance for longer bowling spells by strengthening the muscles in their core region -- the abdominal wall, pelvis, lower back and diaphragm. This exercise also has handy applications for building power for other sports that have a side-on approach, including golf, baseball and tennis. For more advice on exercising for your specific needs, speak to Matt on 4367 6433. Stand square to the cable rack and hold the cable ring in both hands with arms fully extended. Perform a high to low wood chopping pattern, bringing both hands down in front of your hips while rotating through the core. Drive down and through, bending your knee at the bottom of the movement and controlling the weight before returning to the starting position. 10 up elbourne MC Canapes and champagne on arrival Tomato and fetta, cucumber/prawn & dill, crouton w/spiced lamb fillets & chutney Fashion parades - Raffles - Lucky Door Prizes Delicious Buffet Lunch Honey glazed ham, Morrocan roasted sirloin, Tuscan seasoned chicken breast, tossed salad, Avocardo prawn and rocket salad, roasted vegetable pasta salad, watermelon, fetta and coriander salad, Steamed baby potatoes w/sour cream & chives Cheese and biscuits plates served to the table, tea and coffee Hosted by Jo Lavelle Live entertainment until 5pm with "Spectacular Feets" 64 Dover Rd Wamberal 2260 p: 4384 2661 e: firstname.lastname@example.org w: www.breakerscc.com Tickets $40pp - On Sale Now Tuesday 3rd Novembe r 11am c8570632-1Oct A Great Range of Gifts & Homewares New Stock Just Arrived Shop 1, 29-37 George Street, WOY WOY 4344 3111 c8619505-1Oct
