The story so far: When I was growing up as a kid Mum and Dad were working musicians and consequently (thankfully!) I was infl uenced by the great music of the 50s, 60s and 70s as well as country and jazz. I started playing guitar at 13 and singing at 17. I released an EP in 2001 and a full album in 2004 titled The Richest Man in Town, and I won the Male Vocalist of the Year award at the Australian Independent Country Music Awards that year. What’s doing: I’ve been working to get some regular country music gigs up and running on the Coast. I run a gig every Thursday at Wyong RSL called Hillbilly Heaven and I work every Sunday at the Bay Sports Club, Bateau Bay, doing an acoustic show with singer/songwriter and funny bloke Mike Carr, playing music and generally just having fun. Also doing a radio shift every Tuesday on Today’s Country 94One (94.1FM) talking about and playing the music I love. Check me out: Every Sunday at The Bay Sports Club, Bateau Bay, from 1.30pm, and at Hillbilly Heaven at Wyong RSL every Thursday from 7pm (I’m there every few weeks). Also, every Tuesday on Today’s Country 94One from midday. You’ll never see me: If you don’t come out to a gig and have a look. You’ll always see me: Enjoying the music I’m playing. Favourite all-time lyric: “And in the end, the love we take is equal to the love we make” - The End from The Beatles’ Abbey Road album.
