On the 26 The Willows: revisiting an old friend The Willows Restaurant, 512 Pacific Highway, Wyoming, specialises in modern Mediterranean-influenced cuisine. Open six days. Phone 4328 4666 or go to www.thewillows.net.au OR 30 YEARS, The Willows Restaurant at Wyoming has been a part of special moments in the lives of thousands of Central Coast people. F Licensee and manager Glen Rutter said the restaurant’s long and proud history was a source of inspiration for the staff. This is a paid advertisement for The Willows Restaurant, Wyoming “In the time that I’ve been here, I’ve lost count of the number of guests who have told me that they first came to The Willows, maybe 20 years ago, for a wedding reception, or an engagement, or to celebrate a birth,” he said. “It seems that everyone has a connection and a relationship with The Willows.” And yet a restaurant cannot survive on sentiment alone. That’s why Glen and his team have remained focussed on providing quality meals and a satisfying dining experience. “Most of our meals are home-made, and diners appreciate our relaxed atmosphere and warm welcome,” he said. “And every Friday and Saturday night we offer live entertainment. Guests can enjoy a pre-dinner drink at the cocktail bar. And after their meal they’re welcome to stay as long as they wish to enjoy the entertainment.” The Willows’ reputation for quality is reflected by its long list of industry awards. “Over the years we’ve won many awards, and we’re very proud of that record,” he said. Entrees at The Willows start at $12.50. Among the popular entrée choices are oysters (natural, mornay or Kilpatrick), and the new kangaroo salad. Mains start at $24.50. Selections from the grill are always a hit, including succulent T-bones and rumps, while the Surf and Turf and the Barramundi Fillet are also very popular. Most of the desserts cost $12.50. The Sticky Date Pudding is a perennial favourite, while Deep Fried Mars Bar has made a welcome return to the menu. “If you haven’t been to The Willows for a while, we can tell you that we’re still serving the excellent food that we’ve always been known for, so we think it’s time that you came back and had a look,” Glen said.
