E had a great response to the first edition of Coasting, so we’re rapt to be able to grow the magazine and bring you even more Central Coast content. Our cover story is on former Terrigal boy Ross Clarke-Jones, the larrikin big wave surfer. While Ross has spent much of his life travelling the world, his links to the Central Coast, and Terrigal, in particular, run deep. But it could have been a very different story. Our article could well have been about Ross Clarke-Jones the rugby league player. As a boy, Ross had been a keen league player with the Erina Eagles, and at high school he made the Metropolitan North representative team at hooker. Editor: David Stewart Writers: Paul Callaghan, Micheal Dubois, Vanessa Handley, Steven Spierings, David Stewart Sales manager: Sharon Goodman Design: But the lure of surfing was always going to be too strong for Ross to ignore. Although, when Ross runs through the list of injuries that he has sustained under mountains of white water over the past 20 years, you can’t help but wonder if a long career in the NRL would have taken less of a toll on his body. We also have entertaining interviews with actor Chris Sadrinna, local psychic Flavia, and dancer Amy Campbell, as well as more of the music, entertainment, fashion and health articles that were so popular in our first edition. And there are some new additions, too, but I’ll let you discover those for yourself. Dive in!
