central coast tourism On The Water When you want to make a splash There’s a lot of deep blue to explore on the Central Coast, and so many ways to enjoy it. Hawkesbury river Crab and Oyster Cruises (phone 9985 8237) offers a rare dining treat for seafood lovers of all ages which is complemented by terrific views. Enjoy the freshest prawns, blue swimmer and mud crabs, oysters and barbecued mullet as your cruise boat glides along the Hawkesbury. The affable Fisho Dave, the resident master of ceremonies, adds to the entertainment with his seafood catches, singing, joking and cooking. To top it off Dave gives cruise-goers an interactive and educational account of how oysters form, and little-known details about blue-swimmer and mud crabs. Hardys bay yacht Charters (4360 1442) meanwhile, provides a unique sailing experience in the Hawkesbury River and Pittwater area at good rates. Kent Sheppard and his partner Anna McCall – both keen sailors themselves – offer a variety of cruises for those wanting to get away from it all with a river or ocean cruise. One of their most popular cruises is the romantic getaway for a couple with an evening sail followed by mooring in Brisbane Water near Hardys Bay. The skipper leaves the couple on the moored yacht to enjoy the sunset and feast on a succulent seafood meal and enjoy a prepared breakfast. Next morning the skipper returns to the yacht at 10am and sails the couple back to the Hardys Bay Wharf. Clients can also opt for a taste of twilight blue water sailing in Broken Bay, or even an extended two-and-a- half days of sailing to isolated bays in the Hawkesbury River.
